“I contacted Angelika after a friend gave me her details. At the time, I had been through a difficult divorce and felt low in confidence and felt stuck. I felt the need to step out of my comfort zone not only in my personal life but also in finding a job which was rewarding, not only in monetary terms but that I would enjoy. Angelika became my mentor; she helped me to build my confidence and to realise that I was able to achieve far more than I felt I was capable of.
Since meeting Angelika, I have taken several positive steps to make changes in my life. Because of the sessions with Angelika I have been able to think about what I want from life and the fact that I can achieve the goals I have set myself. Angelika is a great listener and has guided me through a difficult time in my life and without that guidance I would not be achieving what I am today”.
Angelika described her own journey to life transformation as via an ABC route – A for Acceptance of what had happened in her life, B for noticing and then changing her Belief system and C for realizing she had a Choice as to how she was going to live her life. She also highlighted that although her talk was on transformation, it was about changing things in your life or attitudes and beliefs you have, rather than changing yourself – because as she pointed out, we are all intrinsically perfect as we are and don’t need to change our perfect selves.
“The talk I went to last night certainly had a positive impact on me. The group were welcoming, friendly and supportive of each other (there were great group discussions / questions) and the speaker Angelika Breukers was wonderfully inspiring. Angelika is a holistic practitioner (The Bowen Technique) who has recently decided the best use she can make of her time and life is to inspire others to make positive changes in their lives, as she did after years of being abused and then abusing herself. As Angelika briefly recounted her ordeal, there were audible gasps from some listeners in the group, who were affected by hearing of her experiences. Although Angelika previously lived as she described it ‘filled up with fear’ and with an ‘extremely negative belief system’ about herself for many years, she stood in front of us evidently a transformed woman. She stood strong, serene and said slowly, emphatically – ‘I am smiling – I am OK’. She spoke with a peaceful and forgiving resonance and the words she began and ended the talk with were – ‘It doesn’t matter what you have or haven’t done – you are worthy of love’. Laura
Having been a Samaritan for 30 years and a Psychotherapist for 20 years, I have heard and worked with many heart-rending stories. Having read Angelika’s book, I wished I had been able to suggest too many of my clients to read her story, as I am sure they might have gained the hope it offers. It’s real life and it resonates positivity”. Barbara Gilmore – Psychotherapist
“Angelika inspired me through the telling of her own story and with her seemingly boundless enthusiasm for life. It can take a lot to overcome the upheavals of life but, with Angelika’s help, I found the strength and confidence within me to create a better life for myself. Angelika is an inspiration, guide and catalyst to a better you. Thank you, Angelika, for inspiring me to stand up again”. Nigel
“Kind and wise is how I would summarise this book. Even the most cynical or weary reader will be moved by Angelika’s brutally honest account of her life and the lessons she has learned. I felt uplifted and privileged after reading Angelika’s reflexions. At no point did I feel that I was being preached to or made to feel guilty. Angelika’s recommendations really are what valuable advice should be: practical, non-judgmental, and easy-to-understand. I am blessed with a happy and fulfilled life, and yet I still paused whilst reading Angelika’s book and thought: “That is so simple, I must apply this thought process myself”. Although spare moments are precious, do take the time to read this book and enjoy the rewards of doing so”. Richie – Legal Advisor
“If you feel there is so much more you could be doing or achieving in your life, but feel stuck, or lack the inspiration or motivation to make the changes you need to, then this is the workshop for you. Angelika gently guides you through a process to help you recognise and re-program those negative thoughts that have been holding you back. It feels like removing a tight pair of shoes”. Fiona
“What a wonderful little book! So easy to read – truly an ABC! – yet so full of just the right messages for anyone who has been abused. You accurately describe the emotional reactions that a child experiences when she has been abused, how the emotions stay with you and how they affect your view of yourself and of the world. You also describe what an abuser does to groom their victims, and how you believed you were the bad one – the feeling shared by other children, even as adults! Sexual abuse has a profound, immeasurable effect on the psyche of a child, and it is wonderful that you have been guided to the most important principles of healing, starting with self Acceptance. May this small work find its way into many hands that need it. There are so many that don’t know about the importance of self-acceptance and the magic of forgiveness. May all who read it feel inspired to find their Uniqueness and value it above all temptations to conform, to hide, forget or ignore”. Carla van Raay – Author of God’s Callgirl and Moving Beyond Abuse, a Spiritual Guide.
“Angelika Breukers has a deep, healing soul. Her story is a beacon of light to others who have faced adversity, her mission is to enlighten them and set them free from their past. Don’t just survive – THRIVE!” Tania Tuck – Emotional Wellness Specialist
“Angelika is a walking, talking, real-life example of the truth:- ‘Your past doesn’t have to equal your future’. I’ve known Angelika for a couple of years now, and in that time, I have seen her grow enormously as she has become more and more aligned with the person she wants and intends to be. Her past story is a dramatic & traumatic one and could so easily have led her to a small life of bitterness, inadequacy & regret, but Angelika has chosen to use these experiences as a springboard for change and to create the life she wants. And now she is determined to use those experiences for good in the world by sharing her story and her self-developed & very real strategies for acceptance, belief and lasting change. I recommend this book to you if you’re feeling stuck, at any level, to inspire you and to mobilise you to make the next steps towards living a life you love”. Ellen Watts – Author
